Mail-In Repair Terms and Conditions
1. Initial Evaluation & Scope of Repair
All devices are thoroughly inspected upon arrival. Your payment covers an HDMI port replacement only. If additional issues are discovered—such as damage to the HDMI encoder chip, PCB traces, or surrounding components—we will notify you with a repair assessment and updated estimate before proceeding.
2. Repair Disclaimer
Submitting payment does not guarantee that your system will be successfully repaired. While we maintain a high success rate, some systems may be irreparable due to extensive or hidden internal damage. If repair is not possible or declined after inspection, we will return the device in its original condition.
3. Declining Further Repairs
If we discover additional damage and you choose not to proceed with the necessary repairs, you will be refunded for any unused portion of your payment, minus the cost of diagnostic labor and return shipping.
4. Shipping & Packaging Responsibility
We provide a prepaid shipping label for your convenience. However, it is your responsibility to securely package your console to prevent damage during transit. We are not liable for any physical damage incurred due to improper packaging or rough handling by the shipping carrier.
Do not send accessories (controllers, cables, etc.) unless specifically requested. We are not responsible for unrequested items included in the package.
5. Turnaround Time
Typical repair turnaround is 1–3 business days from the time we receive your console. Delays may occur if additional repairs are needed or if parts must be sourced.
6. Warranty Coverage
All HDMI port replacements are backed by a 90-day limited warranty, which covers workmanship and part defects related specifically to the HDMI port. This warranty does not cover:
Physical damage after return
Power-related issues
Liquid damage
Hard drive or storage failures
Issues unrelated to the HDMI system
If your repair is eligible under warranty, return shipping for re-servicing is covered.
7. Data Loss Disclaimer
Nerd For Hire is not affiliated with Sony, Microsoft, or any other console manufacturer. All services are performed independently by trained technicians.
